Carolina Health and Humor Association has been promoting healthy lifestyles through humor and entertainment for over three decades.

Ruth Hamilton founded the Carolina Health and Humor Association in 1986 in Durham, North Carolina as a non-profit educational service organization. With a Master of Arts in Education, Ruth has dedicated her career to understanding and implementing the therapeutic power of humor.
As Executive Director, she designs and assists in implementing humor programming in business, education, and community settings. Her innovative approach has touched thousands of lives across North Carolina.
She is best known for creating the Laugh Mobile, a mobile unit designed to bring therapeutic humor directly to cancer patients and hospital wards, which has become a cornerstone of the Duke University Medical Center Humor Project.
